Being intelligent marketers when it comes to intellectual property

May 22, 2013

Join the local chapters of LMA and AMA, which have come together to bring you this special marketer’s roundtable on May 22, 2013.

Have you wondered whether you can use that image you found online in your organization’s marketing material? Even if you think you know the answer, you might be surprised by some of the more common myths associated with Copyright Law as it relates to the Internet.

Effective marketers are good business advisors. The discussion about intellectual property will extend to issues relating to litigation and how to control the costs associated with claims that may arise in connection with advertising and promotional use of trademarks and copyrights. You might be surprised to learn who at your company may be personally liable for infringement and that personal liability is possible even if it is the company that infringes!

We’ll speak about how to use trademarks properly. No company wants its trademark to become generic and lose its rights as a result of misapplying its mark in marketing materials!

Join us for an interactive discussion led by three attorneys who practice in the field of intellectual property law.

Our facilitators (click names for full biographies):

Samuel A. Lewis, a Board-Certified Intellectual Property Law Specialist with Feldman Gale. P.A.
Neil D. Kodsi, an A-V rated trial attorney with The Law Offices of Neil D. Kodsi.
David W. Barman, Managing Shareholder and a Registered Patent Attorney with The Law Office of David W. Barman PA.
